Complementary Courses

Courses for study in Grades 7 and 8 fall into two categories:  core and complementary. Core courses are the courses which are required by all students in Alberta to take (Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Health, and Physical Education). Complementary courses are those which complete a student’s program.

Students are able to select the complementary courses they wish to take for the school year. If a student selects Music they will automatically be enrolled in that course because it is a division course.

This year, all Grade 7 and 8 students will be in the option Career and Technology Foundation for the final reporting period. Even the Music students will have a theme attached to this opportunity! This is a project-based learning experience allowing flexibility and encourages exploration of student interests
