Professional Learning Fridays

On some Fridays throughout the calendar school year, there are full days where students do not attend school. Note these dates on your calendar so alternative childcare arrangements can be made.

During our Professional Learning time, our staff meet as teams to discuss student learning and develop strategies to further impact student success. This is a systematic look at what needs to be taught to meet the Alberta Education Program of Studies. We look at how we are teaching, what we are assessing, and what we are going to do if students are not learning.

This is a critical time for our staff to have professional conversations, engage in learning opportunities, and further develop our practice to create the best schooling experience for your child at I.V. Macklin.

International Dance Day

Time: All Day

International Dance Day on April 29th is an annual celebration of how dancing positively impacts our lives. The human body’s ability to move, groove, pop, and lock has captivated the way we interact with music and express ourselves artistically.

This day was created to allow the world to recognize dance as a professional art form. Dancing gives us the ability to communicate emotions frequently deeper than our own language. International Dance Day is a tribute to millions of people across generations who have dedicated their lives to this craft of enchantment.
